Even if the Trump presidency ended today in the muck of scandal, his impact will be felt for years to come. Why is that you ask? He, the White House counsel, Don McGahn and Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell have executed a brilliant strategy to quickly fill the U.S. district and appellate courts with young conservative justices who will enjoy lifetime tenure on the bench. They will interpret American law for decades to come. If they act according to plan, issues relating to abortion rights, guns, immigration, environmental protections and others will take on a much more conservative cast. Using their slim majority in the Senate, they have taken advantage of rules changes adopted under the Democrats and past leader, Harry Reid, to move this part of their agenda in ways they cannot move major pieces of legislation. Elizabeth Slattery, of the Heritage Foundation, joins us to discuss.
