There’s a growing ‘clean meat’ and vegan movement focused on the many destructive and unethical practices involved the production and consumption of meat. At the same time, as economies improve worldwide the global meat business is at an all time high. How do we reconcile these two divergent trends? Renee King-Sonnen joins us to explain her journey from cattle ranching to veganism as the Founder of Rowdy Girl Sanctuary in Texas. Along the way she explains what processes go on in slaughterhouses and debunks the notion that meat is necessary as a source of protein. It’s hard to forget the ethicist from Princeton University who when asked on my radio program a few years back what practice might man look back on in fifty years and scratch his head about in regards to his ancestors, he wasted no time is saying it would be the eating of dead animals.
